Coalition Of NGOs In Health Appeals To Government To Adopt Holistic Approach In Dealing With Issues Of Health Workers And GMA

The Coalition of NGOs in Health has appealed to government to adopt a holistic approach to dealing with issues of Health Workers and GMA.

National Chairman, Gabriel Benakuu who made the appeal on GBC’s Current Affairs programme, “Behind the News,” said the issue of the GMA and other health workers is a complex one, and both sides must apply special skills in finding a lasting solution to the problem.

Meanwhile, the Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr Justice Yankson says they have resumed negotiations with the employer even as they resume work after three weeks of strike.

He said GMA is committed to getting codified conditions of service for its members and urged government to also show the same level of commitment so that together they can find a solution to the impasse.

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Dr Yankson said what is key now is to have a win-win situation for both the employer and the employee.
