Residents of Agogo have in the past demanded the eviction of Fulani herdsmen from the area citing their alleged destruction of their farms and other assault claims.
They have been accused of rape, murder and thievery.
But speaking to Citi News the Agogo Police Commander ASP George Amponsah said the ejection of the herdsmen will bring joy to the farmers saying the “farmers have been aggrieved for long.”
“They are not happay about what is going on. As you know, the situation has been outstanding for a very long time. Their wish is that the Fulani men will leave them alone so that they can leave here in peace,” ASP Amponsah said.
He intimated that the Agogo people are afraid of the Fulanis because of the dangerous weapons and machettes they wield.
