Popular Ghanaian personality, Kwasi Kyei Darkwa (KKD) will spend another night in the custody of the Police.
The Police on Monday processed him for court but due to their late arrival, they were unable to present their case to the court.
The Police will therefore have to present their case on Tuesday, December 30.
KKD was arrested on Sunday at the African Regent Hotel for alleged sexual assault of a 19-year-old girl.
His Counsel, Nana Asante Bediatuo has dismissed the claims with the explanation that his client and the complainant had “consensual sex”.
In an earlier interview with Citi News, Nana Asante Bediatuo was optimistic of securing a bail for KKD considering the merits of the case.
He also commended the Police personnel at the Airport Police station for not infringing upon the rights of his client since his arrest on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Police are yet to formally charge him.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Police Command, ASP Afia Tenge told Citi News, “he is being held for allegedly assaulting somebody sexually. He has not been charged now for any offence, till we get preliminary evidences or material to prosecute him according to the charges that will be proffered against him depending on the evidence that we get.”
