The Executive Director of the Africa Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies, Mr. Paul Boateng has urged Ghanaians to help in ensuring security in the country and also our neighbouring countries as well.
He added that in west African, Ghana is the leading country in terms of security, peace, and also in Africa we are the third peaceful country.
“…Ghana has been ranked the most peaceful country in West Africa and third on the continent in the 2020 Global Peace Index report”. He made this known on Anopa Bosuo show on Accra based Green FM.
The Security Expert said this in conjunction with the Economic Community of West African States(ECOWAS) meeting held at the Kotoka International Airport – Accra between the ECOWAS Heads of state and the National Committee for the Salvation of the People (CNSP) – Mali in view of resolving the conflict in the country.
Mr. Paul Boateng goes on to say that “other countries like Mali is in crisis, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast are all in the pipeline because of poor security. Looking at Mali, it sounds like their issues always pops up in the ECOWAS meeting due to the fact that the lack better security and peace but rather conflict…”
Speaking on Mali’s recent political conflict the security expert explained that Mali is a country that has seen many phases of conflict and it’s not surprising they are experiencing a coup but however Mali is a big country and their dynamics are different.
