Following the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and New Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto launched on August 22, and September 8, 2020 respectively.
As the general public prepare for the upcoming election on December 7, an Outgone Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akuapem North, Hon. Dennis Miracles Aboagye calls on all Ghanaians to vote for President Nana Akuffo-Addo into power to do more, such as creation of jobs.
Speaking on the Anopa Bosuo Show- Green FM, Hon. Dennis said, the NDC did not provide jobs in the country but rather collapsed businesses.
“…when President Nana Akuffo-Addo was elected into power, he came to meet a lot of challenges, but the major one we faced as a country was lack of job creation, high rate of unemployed people, no factories or industries to work and others collapsing as a result of ‘Dumsor’, Where some factories were struggling due to the ‘dumsor’ which made businesses such as restaurant, chop bars and hotels run down at a short capacity”, he stated.
During the discussion, he explained that when the ruling party came to power they created jobs and also employed a lot of youth into the system of business.
He claimed, “under the term or leadership of the Former President John Mahama, they had Unemployed Graduate Association which consisted of young men and women who had graduated from various universities and were unemployed, this was so bad that they forget about job search because there was no job in the country”.
Again, the MCE announced that in his district “there is a factory called Agro Farm Factory which is the biggest poultry farm fully automated in West Africa and started operating in June 2018 but was then out doored just last month by the President and have employed one thousand and twenty-two (1022) young people in Akuapem North, so you can imagine the impact it will have if in the next 5 years every community has a factory and is able to employ about 1000 people”.
Also, he said planting of food and job programs which was implemented by the president had the notion of employing youth into farming and other sectors.
Hon. Dennis Miracles Aboagye, finally advised Ghanaians to vote and select their leaders wisely based on their track records and capabilities but not based on just their long talks.
