Ghanaian highlife artiste – Rex Omar says parliament is meant for serious people only and that Obour got rejected because he isn’t serious.
Rex Omar is very happy that former MUSIGA president, Obour Bice got rejected by delegates in his bid to contest for the Member of Parliament sit for the Asante Akyem South Constituency.
Obour lost to incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Kwaku Asante-Boateng. While Obour had 296 votes, Mr. Asante-Boateng polled 360 votes to claim the sit.
To Rex Omar, Obour doesn’t deserve the slot to go and represent the masses in parliament.
Reacting to the result, Rex Omar, chairman for the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) posted on his Twitter “We needed serious people in Parliament and Obour wanted to be there. Good job by the delegates for rejecting him”.
Guru, on the other hand, congratulated Obour for giving his political ambitions a try.
