Mr. Amon Kotei has expressed that democracy and in effect winning an election is not necessarily based on knowledge but your ability to win.
He said this in an interview on Green FM’s Anopa Bosuo speaking on the National Patriotic Party’s part decision to make Honourable Quansah Hayford’s wife succeed him.
“Democracy is not only about knowledge. Imagine how democracy will look like if we just had technocrats.” He said.
Mr. Amon Kotei is of the view that democracy is about winning and political parties will always want to present a candidate who can win.
“Democracy is about winning”. He emphasized.
Speaking on the issue, he expressed that if it’s a sympathy vote that will make NPP win the Mfantseman seat again the National Patriotic Party will capitalize on that.
It’s not necessarily about your experience or Charisma it’s about winning. He emphasized.
Meanwhile discussions to make Mrs. Ophelia Hayford succeed her husband are still ongoing as the party has sent a letter to the Electoral Commission on Monday October 12 to invoke portions of CI 127 to allow a 10-day extension of the nomination period within which it would file for her to contest for the Mfantseman seat.
