The National Film Authority – Action Group (NFA-AG) has expressed its displeasure by heavily descending on the Akuffo-Addo-Administration for their coming political event at the Snap Cinema in Accra.
The NFA-AG, which comprises of several filmmakers and industry players described the ruling party’s decision as a selfish step when bans have been placed on premiering movies at the cinemas.
Movie producers from the group subsequently chided the NPP government over a petition sent to the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture that proved pointless on easing restrictions of movie cinemas.
Nonetheless, the group is willing to revert with massive demonstrations on the streets should the government not lift bans placed on cinemas.
As the New Patriotic Party(NPP) awaits to embark on its gargantuan ‘Creative Arts 4 More Grand Campaign’ on October 21, 2020, the group again backlashed that the ruling party is not considering their plea saying ‘…Hmmm, they can use the cinemas for political gathering but it cannot be opened for the one thing it was built for,Big Shame.
…So what is the difference between the meeting they are having in the cinema hall and movie premiere?…’ They fumed.
The Filmmakers finally stated that the prolonged restrictions on movie cinemas would get matters worse as the movie industry has been ‘hanging’ for some time.
