The Standard Chatered Bank in Ghana is set lay off about 600 workers in June following changes the bank intends to implement.
According to sources, the workers to be affected are those who work for the branches at Tudu, Westlands and Taifa in Accra.
Conversations are underway to duly compensate the affected staff.
The development comes as the industry is yet to emerge from the crisis that saw the collapse of some banks culminating into the Consolidated Bank Of Ghana last year.
The Bank of Ghana has however said savings is rising as confidence in the sector took a massive hit after in the wake of the crisis.
