Few residents of the Mfantsiman Constituency have boycott decision on Ophelia Quansah replacing the late Ekow Quansah as a parliamentary candidate to compete the parliamentary seat come December 7 polls.
According to the constituents who have disagreed on the Late MP” s replacement, they have little information or knowledge of her, hence, their inability to give an undertaking of having her compete James Essuon, the NDC parliamentary candidate for the constituency.
Some residents fumed that the parliamentary seat “is not for family and friends” while others were in support of the decision of Mrs. Ophelia Quansah becoming the late Ekow Quansah” s substitute.
“We do not know Ophelia from anywhere! It was her husband that mounted up and won before death claimed him. This seat is not for family and friends”, A resident said.
Another constituent backlashed “It has happened before and if care is not taken, if the president dies, the wife will be asked to replace him”
Mrs. Ophelia Quansah filed her nomination on October 20, 2020 after being proclaimed as the replacement of husband, the late Hon. Ekow Quansah Hayford, on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party(NPP).
